What to Expect
The goal of this column is to shed some light on what you and your family can expect when you visit our office. Read this page, look around the website, and then call to make an appointment for you or the whole family.
In the human body healing takes time! In most cases your relationship with your Chiropractor will require several visits. Therefore the office should be a place that you enjoy, and you should expect an open dialogue with the doctor. We feel it is of the utmost importance that you understand what we do and why we do it so that you are involved in the healing process of your body (sounds like a novel idea)!
A few things to note about the office when you arrive:
Education, Education, Education:
When you walk through the doors you will probably notice two things right away:
First, this is not as stuffy as many of the doctor’s offices you have been to before. Thank you, the goal is to create a fun environment for people of all ages.
Second, we only have wellness information to read. There is no Time Magazine or Sports Illustrated. There are however, the latest articles around regarding wellness, topics such as: Nutrition, exercise, Chiropractic, Health, etc. Chiropractic is a very important piece to the health puzzle, but others factors also influence your health. At Rhino Chiropractic, you will learn how to address the factors of your health in a new way, so you may put together the pieces most important to you. The goal here is empowerment, towards better health.
On your first visit:
You will be asked to fill out a brief application for Chiropractic care (this is available for download on the website). We will give you a brief office tour and invite you to the examination area. We will perform a Chiropractic exam that most people say is some of the more thorough testing they have ever had in a doctor’s office. Often the doctor will perform, Orthopedic, Neurological, Chiropractic tests, as well as posture and palpation exams. We may also take X-rays if needed. We will also ask you some questions, and listen to everything you want us to know.
All of this testing is for one purpose; to see if you have subluxations (spinal misalignment) causing your body to not work properly. On your first day in the office you can expect to spend about 45-60 minutes.
On your second visit:
At this point Dr. Ciasullo will have analyzed the results of your exam (including any X-rays if they were taken). He will go over all of your results with you, and discuss and recommendations. If you have any questions they are answered by the doctor right away. If you are accepted for care and choose to have Chiropractic care, you will receive a Chiropractic adjustment today.
A subsequent visit:
The average visit to the office is much shorter, but just as valuable. As you progress, we may need to stop occasionally and perform a progress exam to accurately measure your healing.
